EDE POLY SUG Calls for Calm as Management Insists Ban on Student Motorcycles, Vehicles on Campus

The Student Union government of the Federal polytechnic Ede, Osun state, has urged her students to exercise patience as they dialogue with the school management over the ban on students’ vehicles and motorcycles on campus.

The school management last session issued a directive prohibiting students from bringing their vehicles to campus, a development which the students rejected.

According to the students Union, several meetings had been held with the management to reverse the ban on student motorcycles but ended in deadlock.

While addressing the students on Thursday, The SUG President Comrade, Adepoju Zakkariyah assured that victory is around the corner as no amount of intimidation from the school management can stop the union from achieving her demands.

“We witnessed a bombshell earlier this morning when the management deployed police officers at the entrance of the school campus gates (Main gate and the Ogberin gate) as a threat for the students leaders to suffice their tyrannical stance and mitigate Students capacity to chart the course.”

“Above all, even if the student’s leadership has cooked the soup of confrontation, no amount of intimidation can dare be a barricade or circumvent the demonstration from occurrence.”

Comrade Adepoju Zakkariyah said further that all necessary measures have been put in place to ensure the reversal of the ban on student vehicles on campus.

“The students union leadership extend their plea to the students to exercise patience as we fight this struggle to the point of freedom. As further necessary actions will be made with every necessary quarters to ensure the ban is lifted.”

He added, “We want to assure you that we will never compromise whenever the interests and rights of Nigeria students are being trampled upon.”
