NAPS Commend President Tinubu for Dissolving Governing Councils, Appeal for..,

NAPS COMMEND PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU GCFR FOR DISSOLVING GOVERNING COUNCILS, APPEAL FOR TECHNOCRATS, NOT POLITICIANS IN THE SELECTION OF NEW COUNCIL BOARD  IN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS.

The above named Association is the umbrella body for all tertiary institutions awarding National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) nationwide.

Following the recent decisions and actions of the proactive President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, which among others dissolved Governing Councils nationwide, this is indeed commendable as it shows Mr President commitment in repositioning the country, especially the academia.

It has become a subject of concern over years as Governing Council of tertiary institutions in Nigeria now sees our schools as money making grounds, these is done in conspiracy with most management heads (Rectors, VC’s and Provosts)
It is expected that they represent government in various tertiary institutions but to our utmost dismay the motive has been defeated.

Under the nose of most Governing Councils, Nigeria students have suffered incessant hike in tuition fee, unnecessary and obnoxious charges, anti student policies among others which have made life unbearable for students who fend for themselves or struggle to be trained by their poor parents.

Super thanks to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR For dissolving  the institution Board and Head in Polytechnic and as such, Governing Council and Management heads should not be left unchecked, they must be held accountable for every transaction and activities under their watch.

The Association ( NAPS ) will also want to use this medium to inform every institution that have increased their School Fees in this hard time that they are nothing but enemies to the Apex students bodies and we will treat them as such if they refuse to reverse it  back to statu quo .

We are committed to the struggle and we can never be discouraged.
