Osun State Polytechnic SUG Breaks Silence Over Increment Of Transport Fare by Okada Association
The SUG president of Osun state polytechnic Iree, has break silence over the increment of transport fare by okada riders association.
This is coming as students kick against #100 transport fare describing it as unaffordable and burden for them to bear.
Following the students union intervention, the price per drop has now been reversed to its initial #50 as contained in a press statement received by POLY TV from the students union government which in part reads;
“We therefore wish to bring to the notice of all Students that upon our several engagements, consolidations and concerted involvement of all relevant stakeholders in the community we have been able to achieve the reversal of the said price to status quo, in other words, the price of bike per drop has return to its prior state, I.e the said price has been reduced to #50 from poly junction to main Gate.
Therefore, any bike man who still charge beyond this price should be resisted as it is against the authorized price of the association and as recommended, such bike men must be duly sanctioned by the leadership of the Okada association.
It should be noted that the Students Union Government under the auspices of Impeccable Led administration prioritize the welfare of all Students, and we shall remain alive to the issues that may stand to encroach on our wellbeing. It is never our joy to witness clash between the host community and the Students community, however, we shall always stand to resist any contrivances that is designed to exploit us as the Students.”
