NAPS KICK AGAINST ILLEGAL ARREST OF UNWANA POLYTECHNIC STUDENTS
The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has condemned the recent unlawful arrest and detention of some students of Akanu Ibiam Federal polytechnic Unwana, Ebonyi state.
In a Press statement released on Wednesday, the association appeal to the state government to ensure that the officers involved is fished out and punished according to the law.
The statement in part reads,
“With saddened heart, we wishes to address the public over the illegal act of Nigeria Police Force on our students in Akanu Ibiam Polytechnic, and also call the attention of the inspector General of Police over the Ugly incident by the men of Nigerian Police Force, over the brutality act on our Students and Unlawful Arrest and detentions Yesterday April 12th ,2022
We strongly Condemned the unlawful act by the men of Nigerian Police on Innocent Nigerian Students.
Consequently, the National Assocation of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) hereby appeal to Ebonyi State Government and Security Operatives for quick intervention by ensure that Perpetrators of this heinous act were fished out.
We hereby demand the immediate deployment of detectives of Police to the scene, to avert further occurrence”
